3D Gloop! is expanding from a garage operation to a dedicated 10,000 square foot warehouse that will serve as both a lab and storefront. Founded in 2018 by Andrew Mayhall and Andrew Martinussen, the company has outgrown its initial location, which included a garage, living room, and several trailers. This new facility will allow for increased production of their unique solvent-based adhesive.
Product Overview
3D Gloop! specializes in a solvent-based adhesive designed to chemically bond various plastics, including PLA, PETG, and ABS/ASA. This adhesive is regarded as one of the strongest options available for joining 3D printed components.
Growth and Community Engagement
To celebrate their growth and enhance community involvement, 3D Gloop! plans to host 3D printing workshops in collaboration with local school districts. This initiative aims to inspire aspiring makers and promote creativity in technology.
Funding Support Initiative
To help finance the renovation of their new space, 3D Gloop! is offering an opportunity for enthusiasts to become “Foundational Supporters.” For a contribution ranging from $250 to $1,500, supporters will have their names permanently embedded in the showroom’s floor, which features Gloop’s signature purple splatters made of copper, aluminum, and dyed concrete. High-tier supporters will also receive a supply of 3D Gloop and can participate in product testing for future releases.
Next Steps
The renovation of the warehouse is scheduled to begin in April. The new location will not only serve as a production facility but also provide a retail showroom, responding to local regulations that require such a space.
