Batman Arkham Asylum Sets Guinness World Record
Batman Arkham Asylum has gained a new Guinness World Record as the ‘Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever’. Batman has gained this title due its Metacritic score of 91.67. This beats previous record holder Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for the Sega Dreamcast which had an average score of 90.
Gaz Deaves, Manager at Guinness stated “We are so pleased to be awarding Batman: Arkham Asylum a Guinness World Record. It is a fantastic new game and due to the reaction of gaming experts we believe it has a well deserved place in the Guinness World Records book.”
Metacritic is a website that reviews music, games, movies, TV shows and DVDs. They compile reviews from other respected critics and publications, giving different weight to different reviewers (based on their stature). Metacritic then combines the scores into an overall grade in percentage levels instead of the typical “star rating” system.
