The inception of Afterlove EP traces back to the dream of Fahmi, who envisioned a project exploring the complexities of heartbreak and moving on. His vision materialized into what was initially termed Project Heartbreak, driven by the desire to capture the lingering feelings after loss.

Tragically, Fahmi’s untimely passing occurred just as the project was about to enter full production. His absence profoundly impacted the team, igniting a collective determination to honor his legacy. As the Narrative Lead, I resolved to channel the intense feelings of my own grief into the journey of the protagonist, creating a storyline that resonated with authentic emotional depth.
Team Dynamics
After Fahmi’s death, our team faced the daunting task of continuing to develop Afterlove EP in a state of mourning. Our producer, Ivor, had known Fahmi for years and skillfully steered the project while managing his own loss. Damas, known in the Indonesian gaming community, provided stability as a co-lead, bringing experience from his own studio. It was heartening to reconnect with Giri, who worked with me on What Comes After, and Dany, who went above and beyond by taking on the role of Creative Director while developing game builds for multiple platforms.

The music of L’Alphalpha, a local shoegaze band, underpins the experience, providing a soundtrack that captures the emotional struggles faced by the protagonist.
