“Gachiakuta Anime Set to Debut on Crunchyroll This Coming July 2025!”

Crunchyroll has announced that the popular manga series Gachiakuta will be adapted into an anime, set to premiere this summer in July. This adaptation, created by Kei Urana and Hideyoshi Andou, features a unique narrative centered around individuals with supernatural abilities who battle creatures made of trash in a society marked by extreme wastefulness and social hierarchy.

About the Series

Serialized in Weekly Shōnen Magazine since 2022, the story revolves around Rudo, who belongs to the underprivileged class in a world where societal outcasts and waste are relegated to a vast garbage dump called the Pit. Falsely accused of murder, Rudo finds himself in the Pit, where he joins forces with others who also fight against the trash beasts that inhabit this desolate place. Each character wields a unique “vital instrument,” crafted from everyday items that carry personal significance, as they pursue their individual quests for revenge against the society that cast them aside.

Animation and Design

Fans can enjoy a newly released trailer that showcases how the series’ graffiti-inspired aesthetics are being transformed into animation by the esteemed studio Bones Film. Urana collaborated with graffiti artist Andou to develop the unique visual style of the original manga, which includes authentic graffiti elements throughout its pages.
