Warhorse Studios has rolled out a significant free update for Kingdom Come Deliverance II, designated as version 1.2. This update introduces key features, including native mod integration via Steam Workshop support and a new barbering option for players.
Steam Workshop Mod Integration
The integration of Steam Workshop allows players to download and install mods more seamlessly than before. Currently, four mods are available on the platform:
- Free Saving: Grants players a Saviour Schnapps item each time one is consumed, enabling unlimited saving.
- Helmet of Henry VIII: Adds a horned helmet for the character Henry.
- Tourist: Disables NPCs from reacting to trespassing, unlocking previously inaccessible story areas.
- Pebbles the Zebra: Changes the appearance of Henry’s horse to resemble a zebra.
While more mods are expected to populate the Workshop, it’s worth noting that over a thousand mods for Kingdom Come Deliverance II are already available on Nexus. The Steam Workshop is anticipated to gradually expand its selection.
Barbering Feature
In addition to mod support, players can now visit barber NPCs located in Zhelejov and Kuttenberg to change Henry’s hairstyle and beard style. This feature temporarily boosts Henry’s Charisma stat, adding a fun new element to character customization.
Comprehensive Update Details
The 1.2 update encompasses more than just these two features. It includes over a thousand fixes and enhancements affecting various aspects of the game, particularly in balancing and NPC behavior. Improvements have been made to animations, the crime system, NPC daily routines, horse riding, and character visuals. Notably, performance enhancements have been implemented in Kuttenberg, the game’s largest city, as well as during major battles.
Future Updates and Developer Stream
Warhorse Studios is committed to ongoing development, with plans for a developer stream to discuss the update’s nuances in detail. Furthermore, a roadmap indicates that three premium DLCs are scheduled for release in spring, summer, and winter of 2025. The game has already achieved substantial success, selling two million copies within its first two weeks, and the studio aims to capitalize on this momentum.
