Super Flower, a Taiwanese power supply manufacturer, has launched its Leadex Platinum 2800W (SF-2800F14HP) for pre-order on Newegg at a promotional price of $899. This high-capacity power supply, designed for power-intensive computing applications such as AI training and professional workstations, is compliant with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards.
Power Supply Specifications
The Leadex Platinum SF-2800F14HP boasts an impressive 80 Plus Platinum certification, achieving up to 92% efficiency at a 50% load. This efficiency not only minimizes energy waste and heat output but also ensures stable power delivery, crucial for demanding tasks like deep learning and high-end rendering. The power supply is rated for voltages between 200V and 240V, which is essential for compatibility with household electrical systems.
Rail System and Connectors
It features five voltage rails: +3.3V, +5V, -12V, +5VSB, and a robust +12V rail that can output nearly 2,800W, supporting the majority of power needs. The +3.3V and +5V rails can provide a combined 120W, while the -12V rail offers 6W and +5VSB offers 15W. The unit is built with 100% Japanese capacitors known for their reliability and quality, making it a reliable choice for high-performance setups.
With a total of 19 power connectors, the SF-2800F14HP includes seven 8-pin connectors designated for EPS and PCIe power, five 6-pin connectors, and an 8-pin connector for SATA and peripheral devices. It supports four 12V-2×6 connectors for modern GPUs, including compatibility with the 12VHPWR connector.
Usage and Applications
This power supply is capable of powering multiple high-end graphics cards, allowing for the connection of up to four 16-pin compatible GPUs. However, when using GPUs that require dual 16-pin connectors, the number that can be powered drops to two. This makes it particularly ideal for setups involving powerful graphics cards such as the RTX 5090, although such capabilities are typically excessive for gaming purposes alone.
Warranty and Availability
The Leadex Platinum 2800W is available for pre-order at Newegg, with the promotional price set at $899. After the promotional period, this price may change. The power supply comes with a 10-year warranty and is scheduled for official release on March 17.
Despite its massive power output, this model is designed for single-system use with only one 24-pin motherboard connector, making it more suited for dedicated workstations than multi-system configurations.
