Niantic and Capcom are set to enhance the experience within Monster Hunter Now with an exciting update themed around Monster Hunter Wilds, coinciding with its release on February 28. A key addition to this update is the introduction of the Chatacabra, a distinctive amphibian known for its large tongue, which will also be featured in the beta for Monster Hunter Wilds.
New Features and Cosmetic Additions
Players will have the chance to unlock an exclusive armor set featuring the Chatacabra. Furthermore, the update includes layered cosmetics that draw inspiration from Monster Hunter Wilds. Highlights of these cosmetics are a version of the Seikret mount and the game’s initial “Hope” armor set, as well as themed weapons incorporated within the “Hope” design.
The Blossoming Blade Season Launch
Details regarding the upcoming season titled “The Blossoming Blade” were also revealed, set to begin on March 6. This new season will introduce notable monsters such as Glavenus, first seen in Monster Hunter Generations, and Arzuros from Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. Additionally, players can anticipate the debut of a new subspecies on April 4 and an Elder Dragon on May 5.
Seasonal Changes and Game Expansions
Though this season will not add any new weapon types, players can expect minor adjustments to the existing weapon lineup. The game is also gearing up for its 1.5-year anniversary on March 17, which will introduce several features, including a new “material exchange” system that will offer special rewards and the ability to track rare subspecies for the first time.
Future Collaborations and Insights
Looking ahead, it is apparent that the Chatacabra will not be the final Wilds monster added to Monster Hunter Now. Niantic’s Senior Producer Sakae Osumi expressed excitement about continuing the collaboration: “This is the beginning of the collaboration between Monster Hunter Wilds and Monster Hunter Now, and we are planning to do more down the road.” He also mentioned a desire to include additional monsters from the Wilds series in future updates, ensuring that players have much to look forward to.
