Monster Hunter Wilds’ latest major update has brought exciting new features, including the return of the Mizutsune and the introduction of the formidable high-rank Zoh Shia. This monster presents one of the toughest challenges in the game, rewarding players with valuable materials to forge powerful equipment upon defeat.
Engaging with the High-Rank Zoh Shia
After successfully completing the Germination quest where you encounter Zoh Shia for the first time, players may wish to battle this creature again to collect more parts for crafting gear. One convenient method to re-engage with Zoh Shia is through the SOS Flare mechanics. To do this, visit Alma when not on a hunt, navigate to the Quests menu, select the SOS Flare Quests tab, and choose Zoh Shia as your target. This will connect you to active quests looking for participants, although availability might vary due to quick fill-ups.
Unlocking Zoh Shia Investigations
Another approach to facing high-rank Zoh Shia is via Zoh Shia Investigations. These can be unlocked by locating the monster in the Ruins of Wyveria specifically during the Inclemency season. To initiate this, go to the Ruins of Wyveria, enter your tent, and change the season to Inclemency. Repeat the process until Zoh Shia spawns, indicated in-game similarly to other apex predators like Jin Dahaad and Rey Dau.
Once Zoh Shia is available, players can save the quest as an Investigation, which can be replayed three times. Should you require more parts after those attempts, simply perform the steps again to summon Zoh Shia once more.
