Wii Fit Plus Out in October, Wii Internet Channel Free
Wii Fit Plus will be available on October 4, 2009 (a Sunday, typical Nintendo fashion). The new Wii Fit Plus will replace the original Wii Fit for a price tag of $99.99.
It will feature six new strength and yoga activities and fifteen more balance board games. Users will now be able to control the order and combination of exercises, and omit any interludes between exercises. Users may also customize their workout by targeting body parts or setting time intervals. The Wii Fit Plus will also keep track of calories burned.
For those who already have the Wii Fit or a balance board, the Wii Fit Plus will have a disc-only option for $19.99.
Nintendo also announced that it would no longer be charging for the Wii Internet Channel. The Opera-based browser previously cost 500 Wii Points ($5). If you already bought it, Nintendo will be giving away a Virtual Console NES game worth 500 Wii Points to make it up to you. The changes are supposed to take effect late October 2009.
